Today’s topic will be on Intersectionality, which is a term coined by Kimberlé Crenshaw. As we embrace the multiple identities each of us carry, we should also recognise that the discrimination faced by certain individuals (belonging to multiple marginalised groups) could be compounded.
Therefore, with sexual violence ultimately being a result of power imbalance, it is important that the dialogue surrounding sexual violence includes intersectional perspectives.
